Swiatek, 22, will play Beatriz Haddad Maia in the semi-finals, after the Brazilian came from behind to beat Ons Jabeur in three sets this morning. World No 1 Swiatek, also a champion here in 2020, repeated that result this afternoon, beating 19-year-old Gauff 6-4, 6-2. Swiatek vs Gauff marked a rematch of last year’s women’s final, which the Pole won handily to claim her second title at Roland Garros.
Iga Swiatek was a straight-sets winner against Coco Gauff in the French Open quarter-finals today, with Alexander Zverev and Casper Ruud in men’s quarter-final action later on.
